Wind Instruements

Wind musical instruments produce sound by the vibration of air, either through a reed, lip buzzing, or blowing into a mouthpiece. Saxophones are woodwind instruments that use a single reed and have a conical metal body, known for their rich, expressive tone in jazz and classical music. Trumpets are brass instruments played by buzzing the lips into a cup-shaped mouthpiece, producing bright, powerful sounds commonly heard in orchestras and bands. Mouth organs, like the harmonica, are free reed instruments where air blown or drawn through small holes vibrates reeds to create sound, often used in folk and blues music. Melodicas combine a keyboard and a mouthpiece; players blow air through the mouthpiece and press keys to open valves, producing notes similar to an accordion or harmonica but with a piano-like interface.
